and orchestration
Composition
It all began in my freshman year of college when I asked for a copy of Sibelius notation software. From that moment on, composition and orchestration have become two of my core hobbies. Some of my pieces can be heard on my YouTube channel.

THE HOGWARTS SONG ANTHOLOGY
One night in January 2020, I was rereading Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. After being sorted into Gryffindor and enjoying the welcome feast, Harry and the other students sing the school song. As I read the lyrics, I started humming a tune... thus began the Hogwarts Song Anthology. I have taken the songs and lyrics which appear in the texts throughout the series and set them to music for piano and voice. Many of the songs were written in the spring of 2020 during the first few months of the pandemic and were originally released on YouTube with a violin covering the melody. In 2021 and '22, after finally having received the appropriate hardware, I was able to record myself singing. You can hear them in the playlist below or on their YouTube playlist.

Requiem Mass
Since I sang my first Requiem mass, they've been a source of endless fascination: the drama in music of orchestra and choir and the tides of emotions a Requiem elicits are a captivating combination. Although the project has roots dating back to 2010, it wasn't until the shutdown in 2020 that it took real shape. The first draft was for baritone soloist with chorus and string orchestra, but it is currently being expanded for full orchestra.
